History of ditech
Ditech was founded in 1995 to address the needs of customers for faster, easier access to mortgage loans. With the traditional mortgage broker model proving a bit slow and cumbersome for customers in a faster-paced, technology-driven world, Ditech enabled borrowers to obtain mortgages directly from a lender rather than relying on an intermediary such as a broker. Providing this "direct" access through "technology" was how Ditech was born.
GMAC, a major financial services company and one of America's largest residential lenders, acquired Ditech in 1999. This marked the beginning of significant growth for Ditech and enabled the company to invest further in its products, technology, and customer service - and set the stage back then for Ditech's emergence, and current status, as a leading mortgage lender.
With a history of innovation (Ditech was the first to introduce flat-fee lender programs such as the $395 flat fee), and a commitment to always putting the customer first (including 24/7 customer service), Ditech is well positioned to grow even further in its status as a lender of choice.
